Following firmly in the footsteps of the likes of AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and The Angels, Airbourne are everything you could want from a rock ‘n’ roll band. Unashamedly steeped in rock from the 70s and 80s, the group makes honest-to-goodness rock music, without any frills or apology.
After hitting Melbourne’s gig-circuit in 2004, the band was signed up by Rough Trade and released their debut, Runnin’ Wild. This led to support slots for heavyweight bands, such as Motley Crue and The Rolling Stones.
No Guts No Glory found Airbourne hitting the road with metal giants, Iron Maiden and the follow-up album, Black Dog Barking saw them dipping their toes into the waters of punk and heavy metal.
2019’s Boneshaker was a return to their rough and ready roots, with tracks such as Backseat Boogie and This Is Our City offering as much punch as any of their early works.
