Elton John Posters & Prints

Born Reginald Dwight in Middlesex, in 1947, Elton John has gone on to become one of the most adored and respected figures in music. His career dates back to the 1960s, but it wasn’t until the 1970s that the Rocketman really took off.

Elton was the biggest-selling solo artist of that decade and on the release of Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, became the first to enter the American album charts, smashing his way straight in at Number One.

While other artists floundered against the synth-pop backdrop of the 1980s, Elton and his writing partner Bernie Taupin seemed in their element. Tracks such as I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues, I’m Still Standing, and Sad Songs (Say So Much) cemented Elton’s position as rock royalty.

The 1990s saw him branch out into scoring songs for Disney’s The Lion King and releasing the biggest-selling song in music history, Candle In the Wind. A decade later and there was no sign of slowing down, with him composing the music to the musical Billy Elliott, and releasing his 33rd album, Live From Moscow.
